Additional Notes:

1)  EMHCs should move to the side of the altar without delay as soon as the Presider

consumes the Precious Blood, picking up the purificators as they come up and

placing them on their forearms as they take their places.

2)  Hosts consecrated at Mass are always used first.

3)  EMHC may retrieve Hosts placed on altar to replenish Hosts in Distributors’

bowl/ciborium, but should NOT approach tabernacle to get additional Hosts;

only the Presider should do this.

4)  EMHCs may consume remaining Precious Blood, but the Presider or Deacon will

purify the cups.

5)  If Deacon Thompson is assisting, he will be the one to offer the Precious Blood to the

EMHCs. The EMHCs will only offer the chalice to the altar servers/cross bearer.

6)  If the presiding priest seems to deviate from “the plan,” just go with the flow, taking

his cue.
